Is USETA affiliated with USEF, USHJA, or any national governing body?

No. USETA is an independent professional association dedicated to providing equestrian support. It is not governed by, funded by, or operating on behalf of any national federation. Our goal is to create a unified trainer voice that can engage constructively with governing bodies when appropriate, ensuring effective trainer representation.

Is this organization meant to “fight” or go against federations?

No, USETA is not designed to operate in opposition to any governing body. Its purpose is to foster collaboration and communication, focusing on equestrian support and trainer representation to enhance the experiences for exhibitors, horses, and professionals at all levels of the sport.

What will USETA actually do beyond discussions?

USETA is developing a structured process that enhances equestrian support through: • Trainer-led advisory boards • Curated discussion topics submitted by members • Moderated forums at shows and events • Consolidated priorities presented as unified positions This approach enables organized, actionable, and consistent feedback, ensuring that trainer representation is not fragmented or anecdotal.

How will forums be structured so they don’t turn into vent sessions?

Before forums begin, trainer representation will be prioritized as topics submitted by trainers are collected. The forums will focus on defined discussion areas, including examples already raised such as show costs, horse welfare, judging consistency, and access to grassroots competition, all aimed at enhancing equestrian support. Additionally, time will be reserved for further open discussion.

Who does USETA represent? Is it just for top-level programs?

USETA provides essential equestrian support by representing trainers at every level — from riding schools and lesson barns to local and regional professionals, national competitors, assistant trainers, and veteran horsemen and women. The organization's goal is to ensure trainer representation that is inclusive across disciplines, breeds, and geographic regions.

How will USETA avoid becoming elitist or disconnected?

By building from the ground up, we are gathering input before finalizing structures to ensure effective equestrian support. As membership grows, leadership roles will expand, and our advisory boards will reflect the diversity of the trainers involved, enhancing trainer representation within the USETA.

Why should I pay dues when outcomes aren’t guaranteed?

USETA does not promise instant change; rather, it offers essential equestrian support by providing structure, organization, and continuity—elements that individual trainers often lack. Through membership, USETA fosters the development of forums, advisory boards, and initiatives that enhance trainer representation and give trainers a stronger collective voice.

How is USETA funded and managed?

USETA is governed by volunteer leadership, ensuring strong trainer representation within the organization. Membership proceeds are directed back into USETA to support its mission, operations, and initiatives focused on equestrian support as it continues to grow.

How can I be involved right now?

We are actively asking trainers to submit their top three priorities to help shape advisory boards and forum agendas, ensuring strong trainer representation in our initiatives. Your input is vital for providing effective equestrian support. 📧 info@equestriantrainersassociation.com Many members of USETA have already offered their time, expertise, and leadership — and we truly appreciate it.
